STUDENT LEADERS!

Since 2004, Student Leaders has been part of our ongoing commitment to youth employment and economic mobility. Preparing a diverse pipeline of community-minded young students with the leadership training they need to be successful in the workforce is vital to our approach to responsible growth and helps to build thriving communities. Every year, through our Student Leaders program we help connect 225 community-minded high school juniors and seniors to employment, skills development and service. They're awarded paid summer internships with local nonprofits such as Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Habitat for Humanity and participate in a national leadership summit in Washington, D.C. The Student Leaders Summit focuses on skill building and creating a more civically engaged society.

If you or someone you know have a passion for improving the community, click here to see where the Student Leaders Program operates and learn more about our eligibility criteria. The 2019 Student Leaders application period will be open from November 11, 2018 — February 1, 2019.

BAE SYSTEMS' FOCUS PROGRAM

The next session of BAE Systems’ FOCUS (Fostering Opportunities and Careers Utilizing STEM) program is beginning in January!  The FOCUS program engages high school aged students in the Southern New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts areas in activities to help promote interest in careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  The FOCUS program creates hand-on learning experiences in different aspects of engineering (electrical, mechanical, and software) as well as project and finance management, communication skills, and teamwork.

The fall session begins on January 9, 2019 and runs through March 13th. Classes take place on Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm at BAE Systems (141 Canal Street, Nashua, NH).  Additional elective sessions will be held on Thursday, February 7th and Thursday, March 7th.  These elective sessions are not required, but further enhance the students’ experience in the program!  Please note, we do hold sessions during school vacation weeks.

BAE Systems is dedicated to helping our youth and community and please ask that any student applying must be willing to make the commitment to attend every session. Due to the nature of our business all students must also be U.S. citizens.  The students will need to bring a photo ID each week. Failure to do so will result in not being allowed into the BAE Systems Facility.

Please encourage your students to apply. Applications must be submitted via email to focus.nashua@baesystems.com no later than December 4th.  The selected students will be notified no later than December 19th

If you have questions about the BAE Systems FOCUS program, please email us or visit our website www.baesystems.com/focus.
