What is ETS?
Hello West High School students,
My name is Adam Howard, and I am the new Educational Talent Search (ETS) Advisor at West High School. I am excited to be part of the West Community and to begin serving you!
WHAT? You may be wondering, what is ETS? ETS is a FREE program that helps students through high school by providing access to tutoring & academic advising, career and college exploration, course selection advice; AND, once you get to senior year, we support you through the entire college process, including applying for financial aid to make college affordable and possible for you and your family. For more information, here is a Youtube video about our program: https://youtu.be/lTkD8t8kSHk
WHO? You may be wondering, is this program for students like me? Students in ETS must be low-income (per federal guidelines) OR first generation college potential (meaning that neither parent has a 4 year college degree). Aside from those requirements, we are looking for students with a desire to go to college! Students do not need to have an A+ GPA or at the top of their class; rather, the most important quality we are looking for in our students is a willingness to always try their best and work to improve themselves.
