We Care...
All of us are struggling to some extent or another with the current pandemic, remote learning and the loneliness associated with both. If you or a family member are having a difficult time with this, you may find this short article on "Addressing Teen Mental Health During the Pandemic" helpful. Also, please be sure to check out the Wellness and High School Wellness pages on the Manchester School District's website for ideas and resources to help you or a family member cope with mental and/or physical health issues at any time.

The Boys & Girls Club of Manchester announces
Paige is competing for the title of NH State Youth of the Year!
Congratulations, Jacob McClelland
Congratulations to our first Harbor Freight Fellow in New England: Jacob McClelland!
Jacob completed his internship at Werner Mazda in Manchester, NH under the mentorship of Patrick Driscoll.
What is the Harbor Freight Fellowship?
Big Picture Learning, with support from Harbor Freight Tools for Schools, has designed a new form of apprenticeships for youths and young adults who show significant potential and passion for the traditional and contemporary trades. Harbor Freight Fellows provides deep and sustaining relationships with expert mentors and access to communities of practice in their area of passion.
We support apprenticing experiences with professional trades persons at their businesses.
We will provide:
A $1,000 scholarship to the youth for 120 hours of apprenticing with a trades person Mentor.
A $500 stipend to the professional trades person Mentor.
A $500 stipend to the supporting staff member (the Advisor) at the referring school or organization.
A $250 to allowance for tools to the Fellow.
What does Jacob have to say about the internship program?
"It helped me see the options I have and it showed me what I should look for when I need to get better, like colleges and trade school. I also can better myself with Mazda ́s specified training classes that I could take. This internship showed me that I work a lot and I never complained cause it's something I wanted to do. It improved my hands-on and listening skills, and made my love and passion for my trade grow even more than it was before."
Are you a senior (or soon to be) with a deep passion for the trades? Reach out to your school counselor to learn more!
